Scope & Topics

The Cambridge–Dresden Bioelectronics Symposium is an international, top-tier conference that brings together world-leading experts, young researchers, and industry partners to showcase and shape the future of bioelectronics.

After two successful editions in Cambridge, the symposium will be hosted in Dresden for the first time in 2026, in cooperation with BiotroNiS — Materials and Systems for Bioelectronics: A Network in Saxony.

The symposium combines a comprehensive overview of the field with an exceptional focus on early-career researchers, who play a central role in both the scientific program and the organization of the event.

Key features of the symposium include:

  • Broad coverage of fundamentals, materials, devices, applications, translation, and ethical aspects of bioelectronics.
  • Invited talks from internationally renowned experts sharing their vision for the field.
  • A majority of contributed talks and posters presented by graduate students and postdocs, selected and evaluated by peers.
  • Thematic panel discussions and road-mapping sessions addressing the future directions of the discipline.
  • Dedicated “Meet the Industry” sessions with startups and established companies.
  • Awards for outstanding contributions by young scientists.
  • Networking opportunities, including a symposium dinner.

With its roots in Cambridge and the strong support of BiotroNiS in Dresden, the symposium offers a unique platform to strengthen connections between academia and industry, and to empower the next generation of bioelectronics researchers.
